About The Nutritional Therapist
Debbie became interested in health and nutrition due to her own health problems of stress related IBS. She became aware through self diagnosis that wheat was definitely a dietary trigger of her symptoms and by removing wheat from her diet and introducing daily meditation she found profound relief. Later, when her son was 6 months old, he developed a milk allergy which he didn’t outgrow until 2½ years old. Because of this Debbie became an avid label reader to ensure that milk or any derivates were not included in his diet. Debbie therefore sourced substitute milks to dairy and ensured his diet included adequate calcium alternatives.
Driven by the passion of her child’s health Debbie embarked on the BSc(Hons) in Nutritional Medicine and further a Post Graduate Certificate in Health and Social Studies. Debbie believes that health is not just about the absence of disease but about feeling vibrant and alive. Through studying nutrition this consolidated her belief that health can be markedly improved by the right dietary and lifestyle applications.
Qualified in medical laboratory sciences, specialising in haematology, Debbie has 30 years experience working in both research and diagnostic chemical pathology and therefore is well placed in both recommending and interpreting the right laboratory tests for your needs.
As part of on going growth and professional development Debbie regularly attends Continual Professional Development (CPD) events and seminars to ensure that she keeps abreast of the most recent developments in health and nutrition.
